Our region Samtskhe-Javakheti is situated in the southern part of Georgia. It is characterized by its rugged terrain and its unspoiled nature. Its landscape is yet not untouched by man, as is evicenced by its many hilltop churches and monasteries.

In the south of our region lies one of Georgia's main tourist attractions. Vardzia is a cave city in the southern part of Georgia. It can be visited on a daytrip from Bakuriani. The place is maintained by a small group of monks and can be visited for a small fee.
